Ci) Explain what a social care worker must do if they became aware of unsafe practice If I was to became aware of unsafe practice then I must follow the whistle blowing procedure and to report to the manager and to monitor all unsafe practice, by recording and reporting in full all the evidence and then speak to manager.
CII) Describe what a social worker care must do if unsafe practice is reported but nothing is done to ensure it is corrected. If unsafe practice has been reported but nothing has been done to ensure it is corrected then I would have to go to the next level of management and that would be the care quality commission or safe guarding team at the local social services department.
CIII) Describe three factors that may make individuals more vulnerable to abuse than others. Reliant on others – individual who are totally reliant on others to support and care for them. Mental capacity – individuals who may lack the capacity to understand what is happing to them. Sensory impairment – individuals who have sensory impairment e.g. poor hearing may have communicated difficulty.
CIV) explain how adopting a person centre approach which offers choices and upholds right can empower an individual and help to reduce the likelihood of abuse. By using person centre values you are enabling the individual to have control over the rights and to make choices, promoting their independence and by giving them the respect and to have the confidence and self esteem to make complain if needed.
CV) explain how encouraging and promoting active participation can help to reduce the likelihood of abuse. Encouraging active participation builds self esteem and the person will refuse to tolerate abuse and then would be inclined to report it, they are also round others which will help to build friendships in which they can share things and may tell one of them if abuse may happen and one of them may pass it on to help.
CVI) explain how effective and easy to use complaints procedure can help to reduce the likelihood of abuse. To resolve complaints more quickly when reported to provide flexibity in relation to target response time and to also provide on appropriate and propotiance response. To make sure the victim is safe guarding and to improve record and reporting keeping.
