How Japans Geography has effected it economically and socially Essay Sample
Japan’s geography has influenced its economy and has also socially affected it. Japan is located off the east coast of Asia on the Pacific Rim. Through out Japanese history they have been isolated from other countries because of their location geographically. There was a little cultural diffusion between China were it got its writing system, and Buddhist religion.
Socially their society is very ethnocentric. They are homogeneous because of their isolation they could not take in other races and mix with them, but they also did not want other races thinking they were inferior. They are a island nation so they have a high population density with little or no area to spread out so they built up and made every thing the most efficient it could be.
Economically they have been affected by their surroundings because they do not have a lot of natural resources because of this lack of natural resources and land they created new ways to feed themselves like terrace farming and a major fishing industry. They also import raw materials and than process them into a product and export them to other countries to make a profit.
They have little land or natural resources so they take them from other countries through militarism. They are an expanding population and they have nowhere to expand so they need to come up with new ways to develop and grow.
