The reading class is actually a group of people who routinely use reading for their work and entertainment. Education has made the reading class a route of entry for members from other socio-economic backgrounds. Examples of the reading class can be taken from the Muslims, the early Greeks out of the numerous groups of reading members. However, reading culture is far deviant from the reading class both in terms of definition, concept and scope.
Reading culture is said to be the society where both the ability and practice of reading is necessary in order to be culturally competent and economically acceptable. Unlike reading class, reading culture is more like a recent development. In our world today, the requirement for full social participation has caused an arousing pressure for mass literacy and this is as a result of people developing or seems likely to develop a reading culture. In reading culture, what one reads becomes a useful form of stratum and social gesticulation. utterly, it is both possible and from historical records, very common to have a reading class without a reading culture and in most occasion, the group of people administered in the reading class neither have the high capacity of reading or actually desire it and the signs of reading culture include the invention of written news by and for an anonymous public.
